Parent Education Program

The Ministry of Education Transformation (MEdT), in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is pleased to announce the launch of the Parent Education Program (PEP) – a collaborative initiative designed to actively engage parents and caregivers as key partners and co-creators in education transformation.

Our Vision

To be a nationally recognised parenting programme that equips, enpowers and fosters postive parenting skills in building strong families and communities.

Our Mission

To enhance positive parenting skills thereby empowering parents to develop resilient children who positively impact families, communities and the nation.

WHo WILL BENEFIT? PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS

Those who want to build a stronger bond with their children and learn toproven methods for communicating and interacting positively.

Those who are open to practising self-reflection and want to learn how to manage stress. The programme also provides participants with clear strategies and tools for raising resilient children.

Thiose who want to know more about each stage of development and the unique challenges children face as they grow from preschool through to adolescence.

Those willing to collaborate with other parents and learn techniques to raise children who are emotionally resilient and grow into socially responsible citizens.

How it Works

The foundation of this initiative is built on two key groups

Champions of Change (Trainers):

These individuals undergo rigorous training to become community multipliers. Upon completion, each Champion facilitates "Lime and Learn" sessions for Pioneer Parents within their local communities, ensuring that knowledge is localized, accessible, and culturally relevant.

Pioneer Parents and Caregivers

These are motivated parents and caregivers who participate in community sessions. They are open to sharing their knowledge, developing new skills, and becoming empowered agents who actively support their children's growth.
