The Government of the Republic of Cuba is providing full scholarships to Barbadian students in the 2026-2027 academic year to pursue either undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Cuba in the following disciplines:

  • Medicine
  • Health Technology
  • Stomatology

Eligibility

Applicants benefitting from a Cuban Scholarship should be Citizens of Barbados between the ages of sixteen (16) and twenty-five (25) for the undergraduate courses. 

Current Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes

  • Certified copy of academic report of the final year of Secondary School or College Transcript
  • An official copy of Secondary School/College degree certificate
  • Certified copies of CXC/CAPE certificates

Academic Requirements

  • An official copy of Undergraduate Degree, baccalaureate or equivalent level Certificate and Transcript of Grades.
  • An original Health Certificate, including a negative HIV test and proof that the female student is not pregnant.
  • Original Criminal Record Certificate.
  • Birth Certificate and a copy translated into Spanish.
  • Ten (10) 1×1 inch photos.

Postgraduate Programmes

  • A certified copy of Bachelor’s Degree Certificate and the transcript of grades.

Other Requirements

  • General Health Certificate, including HIV status and an official medical certificate confirming that the applicant is not pregnant (for females).
  • Police Certificate of Character
  • Birth Certificate
  • Ten (10) passport size pictures
  • Before submission to the Ministry of Technological and Vocational Training, ALL documents must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a Health Care Facility.

Please note that all documents must be translated to Spanish.

Applicants should be prepared to travel during the month of August 2026.
